Manufacturing Process of Metal Plates
At Pearl Steel, our manufacturing process ensures the production of high-quality steel plates with excellent structural integrity and reliability. The journey from raw material to finished product involves several key stages:
- Reheating Furnace
Steel is heated for optimal malleability before rolling into the desired plate thickness. - Scale Breaker
Removes surface scale using high-pressure water jets for a clean steel surface. - Finish Rolling
Steel is rolled to the required thickness and surface finish in the hot rolling stage. - Cooling (Quenching)
Plates are rapidly cooled to enhance strength and durability for industrial use. - Skin Pass Mill
Improves surface finish and imparts key mechanical properties like drawability. - Marking & Packing
Final plates are labelled and packed for safe transport and easy identification.
Metal Plate Design
The design of metal plates is integral to their functionality and aesthetic appeal. Whether you need stainless steel plates, alloy steel plates, or Industrial Duplex Steel Plates, the design can vary depending on the application. From smooth, plain surfaces to intricate textures, the design choices are influenced by the material, manufacturing process, and intended use. When considering the metal plate price, factors such as material type, thickness, size, and the specific manufacturing process are crucial.
At Pearl Steel, we ensure that every metal plate is crafted with the highest quality standards, providing durable, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing products for various industrial applications.
Plate Specifications
Plate metal is any 6 mm-thick or larger piece of metal. Plate metal is used in systems where reliability is of greater value than weight savings. This is used in cars where it needs longevity to undergo crash inspection.

Common Materials of Metal Plates
At Pearl Steel, we offer a diverse range of high-quality metal plates, each made from specialized materials to meet the unique requirements of various industries. Here’s a look at some of the most commonly used materials in the manufacturing of steel plates:
Duplex Stainless Steel
Duplex Stainless Steel Plates combine high strength with outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly effective against stress corrosion cracking. With a balanced microstructure of austenite and ferrite, these plates are ideal for use in chemical processing, oil and gas industries, and marine applications, where robust performance in aggressive environments is critical.
Super Duplex Stainless Steel
Super Duplex Steel Plates offer even higher strength and superior corrosion resistance compared to standard duplex grades. Known for excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, they are widely used in offshore platforms, desalination plants, and high-pressure chemical processing systems where extreme durability and reliability are required.
High Nickel Alloys
High Nickel Alloy Plates are engineered to perform under high temperatures and corrosive environments. With exceptional thermal stability and resistance to oxidation, these plates are commonly used in the aerospace industry, marine environments, and chemical processing plants, ensuring long-term integrity and performance.
Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel Plates are valued for their superior corrosion resistance, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Suitable for applications across construction, automotive, food processing, and aerospace industries, these plates offer reliable performance where hygiene, strength, and resistance to harsh environments are essential.
Mild Steel
Mild Steel Plates are characterized by their excellent weldability, ductility, and cost-effectiveness. They are widely used in construction, fabrication, and general engineering applications where moderate strength and easy machinability are sufficient.
Carbon Steel
Carbon Steel Plates provide high strength and wear resistance, making them ideal for structural applications, pressure vessels, and machinery parts. With varying carbon content, these plates offer tailored mechanical properties to suit different industrial uses.
Alloy Steel
Alloy Steel Plates are enhanced with additional alloying elements such as chromium, molybdenum, or vanadium to improve strength, toughness, and wear resistance. These plates are ideal for heavy-duty equipment, pipelines, and power generation components that operate under high stress and temperature.
Titanium Alloy
Titanium Alloy Plates deliver a unique combination of lightweight strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. These plates are widely used in aerospace components, medical implants, and chemical processing industries where precision, reliability, and resistance to extreme conditions are vital.
